Conditions of Writing Competition

Students are asked to write a #hyper-fiction story, of up to 750 words, on an historical event or person. 
Create an original piece of writing based on a current or historic event
Stories linked to New Zealand or New Zealanders are preferred
Your piece of writing must be no  more than 750 words
#Hyper fiction is fiction based on facts, for example 'my stories' novels. Think of a current or historical event and imagine that you are there while this event is happening. It could be the Christchurch Earthquake, the America's Cup, or even the sinking of the Tangiwai. As long as the place and main event is historically accurate.  The experiences of the main character can be totally fictional.
All entries must:
be an original piece of writing by the participant and not published anywhere else
be typed using Arial or Tahoma fonts size 10 – 12 point
be formatted 1.5 line spacing and paragraphed
be written in English as the main language
be accurate for spelling, punctuation and grammar
include your full name, school, year level and title of piece and your home email
be received by 5pm 16th November 2013
