Success Criteria for writing a 100 word story

·        Powerful adjectives e.g. towering cliffs

·        Interesting nouns

·        Interesting verbs e.g. rumbled

·        Interesting adverbs e.g. eagerly

·        Be specific NOT general e.g. NOT ‘There were lots of people on the beach’

·        Similes

·        Metaphors

·        Personification

·        5 senses

·        Avoid ‘You’.  Write in the first person.

·        Stick to present or past tense!

·        Onomatopoeia e.g. ‘Boom!’

·        Alliteration e.g. ‘silvery, silky sand slipped through my toes’

·        Accurate punctuation

·        Capital letters

·        Accurate spelling
